About Andrew Pegler

Award winning plain English editor and writer, Andrew Pegler believes that sometimes words are just not enough … especially clumsy, badly written ones.

Andrew is the Principal of Andrew Pegler Media, and conducts our plain English writing training. He’s been presenting plain English workshops across Australia and New Zealand since 2002 His LinkedIn page provides more background and favourable references.

2019 was Andrew’s third straight year talking on plain English and the law at Victorian Law Week. Discover more on Andrew’s talk entitled Plain English is a Bankable Asset. Andrew was a judge for the 2018 NZ Plain English Awards and has been invited to judge again in 2021. He was also a judge at Australia’s 2019 Clear Communications Awards.

Andrew was a presenter at the 2019 Mumbrella Finance Marketing Summit on the new language of banking. He also presented at Clarity, a global conference on plain English in the law. His essay in the prestigious Clarity Journal, the international journal promoting plain legal language, was called Beyond all reasonable doubt: the brand advantages of plain English contracts. Andrew’s extensive experience with adult learning programs includes writing and teaching a degree unit at Monash University from 2005–2010. The ‘Introduction to Advertising’ unit covered all aspects of this rapidly developing field. Andrew wrote and marked exams, essays and presentations.
